Overview (iDAS)

Devotech iDAS originated as Devotech Professional Extensions (DPX) for Autodesk® Civil 3D®. DPX was developed in response to customer requests for practical tools that could improve design efficiency, reduce repetitive drafting tasks and streamline common Civil 3D workflows. Over time, these requests shaped the development of iDAS into a broader and more capable design platform.

Devotech iDAS includes the core functionality previously available in DPX, together with a wide range of additional tools developed specifically for civil infrastructure design, documentation and plan production workflows. The software has evolved from a small collection of utilities into a mature design environment used by engineering teams to complete complex design tasks more efficiently and consistently.

Devotech iDAS also acts as a design platform that brings project data, design information and model outputs into a centralised design space. By supporting data exchange with GIS, TUFLOW, EPA SWMM, EPANET, 12d, InfoWorks ICM and many other industry systems, iDAS helps engineering teams share information more effectively between design, modelling, analysis and documentation workflows.

The development of iDAS has been shaped by close collaboration with engineers, designers, surveyors and clients who have contributed practical feedback, project data and workflow insight. Their input has helped ensure that iDAS remains focused on real engineering requirements rather than generic automation.

iDAS is designed to complement Autodesk Civil 3D by reducing the time required to complete common design and production tasks, improving workflow consistency and supporting more efficient project delivery.
