Add Objects to Surface Command

Description:

Adds drawing objects from either the current drawing or an external drawing to a surface, or creates a new surface from the selected objects. This command is similar to adding drawing objects to a surface definition, but it also allows the user to add drawing objects from an external drawing into a surface in the current drawing. This is useful for heavy survey drawings that take long to open and are slow to create a surface from.

Instructions:

1. Run the command.

2. Either click the select button to select objects (polylines, lines, points, etc.) from modelspace, or click the file browse button to select a drawing file from which to select objects. Note that all objects in the external drawing will be selected.

3. Choose what type of object should be used from the selection. These options can be used to filter the objects in the selection.

4. If the selected objects form triangles (e.g. lines, polylines or 3d faces) then check the Maintain edges from objects option. This option will attempt to match the triangulation of the surface to the selected objects geometry.

5. Choose whether to create a new surface or add the objects to an existing surface. If a new surface is chosen then the surface name and style must be provided.

6. Click OK and the objects will be added to an existing surface or a new surface will be created from the objects.
