Notes on Specific Pipe Families
Aco Drain MiniKlassic
There are two families available:
- Aco Drain MiniKlasik Rounded Bottom
- Aco Drain MiniKlasik Flat Bottom
Aco Drain MiniKlasik Rounded Bottom
This family was modelled as standard Civil 3D conduit therefore the inside profile was modelled, and the wall thickness was used to create the outer part of the conduit:
This approach does not allow to have different shapes for inside and outside conduit profiles.
Aco Drain MiniKlasik Flat Bottom
This family was created for a more realistic appearance. The wall thickness was set to 0.001 mm and a new parameter A was introduced to be used for the wall thickness:

Egg-Shaped (Ovoid) Generic Pipes
Egg-shaped pipes can have different profiles depending on the ratios between the height (H), the top radius (R), and the bottom radius (r). In the example shown below, the proportions are H/R = 3 and r/R = 0.5.
The table below [1] illustrates the different pipe profiles corresponding to various combinations of the H/R and r/R ratios:
Based on the table above, the naming convention for the different profile families is as follows:

Pipe Classes
The Devotech iDAS Pipe Catalog contains the following classes:
- DEV_Class – it is a string type and it shows any class from the classes below (some pipes use PN, some SDR and some SN). It can also combine two classes, for example the part Acu-Tech HDPE SDR 11 PN 16 AS NZS 4130 will have DEV_Class: SDR 11 PN 16
- DEV_Pressure_Class – it is string type, e.g.: PN 16, PN 10
- DEV_Pressure_Class_Numeric – it is a float type, e.g.: 16, 10 (this numeric value can be used for labels, expressions, calculations)
- DEV_SDR_Class – it is a float type e.g.: 11, 13.6 (this numeric value can be used for labels, expressions, calculations)
- DEV_Stiffness_Class – it is a string type used for ring stiffness SN, only a numeric value is used e.g.: 6, 8. It is a string type therefor it cannot be used for labels, expressions, and calculations but we believe that it should not cause any inconveniences.
Notes:
- The String type means a text, the Float type is a numeric type.
- We thought that the string format will work best, hence why the Stiffness Class and Pressure Class are strings. During development we found that the float format can be used for labels, expressions, and calculations and that's why the SDR Class, which was developed later on, is a float type. For this reason, we added Pressure Class Numeric. We did not see a need to add the numeric type for the Stiffness Class.

The Devotech iDAS Pipe Catalog contains custom pipe and structure properties which are necessary for some iDAS functions to work correctly. These properties contain the prefix DEV. See the list below for the Devotech pipe properties:
