Civil 3D Drawing Template

If you want to start a new drawing in Civil 3D, you need to select the correct drawing template. A drawing template contains styles and labels for Civil 3D objects as well as layers, dimension styles etc. Devotech provides two drawing templates:

1. Template with part lists
2. Template without part lists

Parts lists are libraries which contain pipe and structure types. These objects are not covered in Civil 3D Essentials, therefore the template without part lists should be used to minimize drawing size and decrease drawing opening time.

1. To create a new drawing based on the correct template use the Application Button and click on New – Drawing:
